crazy abarmbybut mine does the same. 03 as well. ive noticed only on the HOT days down here in tx though. if i dont run the ac no hissing or at least i dont notice it. Cant you get a black light and go over the ac connections and shouldnt there be a dye that will show up if there is a leak??

Yes.............I believe your all correct.
My system is running fine and blowing cold air.
It was a very hot and particulary humid day yesterday, so the AC was working hard.
I have never heard the hissing on shutdown before and it really sounded like a reason to be concerned.
It dosen't do it if the AC is off.
It must be true.....................I am getting older ...................and a little more **** LMAO

Just been out for a run this morning.
Usually when I put the heater on de-mist, the AC condenser fan runs.
I checked the fan out and it doesn't seem to be running at all.
I checked the fuse and swapped the fan relay with the park lamp to check if that made a difference.
It didn't.
I'm sure if you put the heater onto de-mist this fan comes on straight away?
If this fan isn't cooling the AC condenser by not spinning, this might be the cause of my fluids boiling due to the increased presures people have been talking about.
Is this logical?
What should I try to do to fix this fan issue?
I think it is related.

I went out to the truck............armed to the teeth with circuit schematics [sm=confused06.gif][sm=icon_rtfm.gif]and tools and a very threatening look on my face [sm=boohoo.gif]please work, please work, please work[sm=hail.gif]

I gave it a good talking too[sm=bicker.gif][sm=icon_blah.gif] and then...............bashed the fan motor with a small screwdriver[sm=icon_beat.gif]

The fan spun up and now works fine [sm=happy046.gif]

I gave it a good spraying out with WD40, but will probably have to buy a replacement fan soon. [sm=boosign.gif]

This now keeps my high side AC refrigerant temps down as they should be.
It has made a difference to the Hissing sound which is now as I remember it and is pretty quiet.

Tenacity and perseverance are great qualities I find

Thanks so much for all the suggestions and the help guys.
This is a great site and a wonderful asset!
