I have a 03 1500 4x4 with 80000kms and when i put it in reverse and start reversingi can hear a squeaking sound and i dont have a clue what it could be!

Is it a constant squeek or a like an intermittant squeek squeek squeek as you back up? High pitched metal on metal or lower rubber on something else? only in reverse or in all gears. Try driving slowly in 1st and see if you can hear it.

I have this too in my '05. I assumed it was the breaks, but now I'm not so sure.

Had this problem on my 06 and older dodge trucks i had, everytime it was the rear u-joint. For me with my driving style it seems to be every 2 years i have them replaced.

It happens to me about every 6 months on my 05. and it would only do it in reverse. I found it to be the suspension for me. Then you drive in reverse your torquing the suspension in a different direction than when going forward.... so the forwad spin on the axel is pretty well worn into it nonsqueeking grove... but the reverse spin on the axel.... it is stillnewand squeekswhen going backwords. ( you maybe drive backwords a total of 10 miles maxout of every 100,000 forward miles)I spray the leafsprings, shocks, and bed mountswith WD-40 and it goes away for about 6 months... by then the rain, dirt, ect has washed most of it away and it comes back again.
