havent been here in a while but here goes...

my '02 ram 4.7L engine light came on and my code reader says its P0601. what does this mean, how much is it gonna cost me to fix and can i do it myself?

Not sure if it's the same, but for my '03 4.7 that code means 'Internal Control Module Memory Check Sum Error'. Try resetting your PCM?

Check the DIY section on 3rd Gen Ram. Someone posted a code library. Or go to autozone and borrow a scanner the call around to some shops.

Is your truck running? Check with your dealer, This is usually covered under the 8 year/80,000 mile emissions warranty...
Symptom:
P0601-PCM INTERNAL CONTROLLER FAILURE
POSSIBLE CAUSES

POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE

TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY

NOTE: This DTC indicates an internal PCM problem.

If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.

Repair

Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module in accordance

with the Service Information.
