Already said, but local junk yards, someone will have a window as there are several years that will work.

As for changing it, should not be to bad. I have not seen my Rams inside of the door panel, but it can not be that hard.

I was a glass man for 6 years, I did about 5 windshields for the new body style, door glasses are cake walks I love doing those. If you still haven't gotten it done let me know.Shouldn't take to long too do. Just supply the glass and I'll give you a good price.

I appreciate the offer, but I'm in north Florida, your profile says New York....I think the dealer would be cheaper than airfare[sm=confused06.gif]

I thought the side windows were supposed to be temepred glass as well. All of my experience with the stuff says it shatters, not cracks, but this is deffinately a crack; you can even see a couple smaller ones where they jimmied the door lock. It's not staight across; very much like a lightening bolt. I think I'm going to start hitting junkyards and see what I can find. I'm kind of afraid to roll the window up and down, not to mention getting the shatter effect from just closing the door. I guess I'm stuck with the turbo Civic for main transport untill I find a window.

They are supposed to come out with tempered glass windows for them sometime soon. I am waiting on those because they are cheaper, and stronger.

technically yes, tempered glass is around 7 times stronger than regular annealed glass at the same thickness. it's also more break resistant, but not as Break in resistant as lami, because after the inital crack lami will stay together, and it takes some effort to get it to buckle completly, so while it takes more effort to break initially once it fails as you guys already know, it just falls apart.

Yeah the dealer would be cheaper, try going through your insurance company first. Ask if you have a full glass riser. Look for a mobile glass shop in your area, like Triumph or Safelite or even a local shop. All you need is a claim number from your insurance agency, the glass shop should do the rest. I don't think your premiumswill go up.

I appreciate your responses. I'm checking wth the insurance company, but I think I may have change it myself. I downloaded the service manual and have looked through it, it doesn't seem to hard. I'm kind of a hands on guy anyway (heavy equipment mechanic), I just like to know what I'm getting into before I have to call for help halfway through the job.

Thanks!!
