Limited Slip Diff

Find some dry pavement.
Do a burnout.
Get out of the truck, count the number of stripes:
0 stripes = check truck for Ford emblem
1 stripe = open differential
2 stripes = anti-spin/limited slip/posi-traction
3 stripes = put down the beer, call a cab.
If you're buying from a dealer, they can run the VIN, show you a printout of exactly how the truck was ordered (options, etc.), and any dealer-supplied work that's been done.
MAKE SURE you buy a truck with anti-spin if that's important to you. I found out the hard way that just because it's a 4x4 doesn't mean it's installed. Cost me $875 to get it installed at the dealer ($435 for the differential, $50 for two bearings, the rest was labor and fluids).
