Default 4.7L 3.55 QC vs 5.7L 3.73 MC?

Which truck will have more "pep"? A 4.7L Quad Cab 2x4 with 3.55 gears or a 3.73 Mega Cab 4x4 with 3.73 gears?

my guess is those are the two trucks on the dealer lot he wants and doesn't know which. I'd have to say the hemi will have more pep.

I own the 4.7L. I will be purchasing a new truck this summer. I was wondering if the 5.7 mega cab with 4x4 will have more "pep." I am leaning to this truck.

Well its a lot more weight, but i gotta say i really think that hemi will still put out more pep than the 4.7..... I'm not sure the gear ratio is great enough to have that dramatic of an effect on these...

The gearing could be negated if

The 4.7 has 17s with smaller tires and the MC has 20s with bigger tires.

Over all, the additional 100+ HP and additional torqueeven with the weight will feel a little more powerful. But at the same time it will empty your wallet faster.

I will be keeping the factory tire size. I now have the factory size tires on my 4.7L with 17 inch rims. Thanks for all the replies so far!!
