Yea I am in the same boat on the stock tires. I have heard some really good stuff about the Toyo open country AT and there MT tires. They are a little more but I have never heard anything bad about them.
I was going to run my stockers down to nubs before I replaced them but found I didn't like slipping and sliding in snow and mud (lovely Utah winters) so went with Toyo Open Country AT's. They behave well on the highway and don't "howl" like allot of MT's, and are still good in the rain and have worn excellent (okay, so I've only got like 5K on them, but so far so good). I had a set of Big O MT's on my old Dakota before, looked cool, did great in the mud and snow, but they were noisy as hell and were terrible on wet roads.....
just recently got the toyo open country M/T and i'm lovin these tires. def louder than stock but only slight hum on highway. haven't had them in snow yet but have only heard good things about them.
