I you'r truck still under warentty go by the book so if it breaks you are covered keep you'r recipts to prove you done you'r maintance Chrysler will look for every way not to fix you'r truck to save them money.

As for me as soon as mine warentty runs out I going back to every 5000 miles for a oil change With AMSOIL or Mobil one most likey Mobli One it's easyer to find at the local stores, But I like AMSOIL better but after shipping cost and waiting to come by UPS, Mobil One easyer..

no way, i agree with hanson...there's no way I would EVER recommend some going that long without changing the oil...i say change it every 5000 and use a quality filter (such as Wix or Amsoil)....I've used Mobil 1 in pretty much every vehicle i own....but I do believe I'm gonna switch over to amsoil in my ram but keep running mobil 1 in all my other vehicles...dont drive my ram very much so the cost of shipping and all that kind of helps towards that lol....

$8 a qt!? Wow, where are you buying that, Neiman Marcus? Go to Wal-mart, 5 qt jug is $20 ($4 a qt).Mobil 1's extended life only allows you to take it out to 15K miles between changes, never heard of anyone suggesting 20K. Check their website for recommendations.Pennzoil Platinum is also highly recommended in synthetics and is also around $20 a jug. Pretty much it is as others have stated, if under warranty still, you need to follow the recommended service interval to keep from getting any crap from the dealer. Since a 6K mileoil change is in the book you could safely do that with a quality synthetic. Yes, I know, that is schedule "A" which is rare, but if the dealer asks, that is what I would answer to get warranty service. Wix, NAPA, Mobil 1, K&N, the high-end Frams, Amsoil, are all fine for filter use and any of the premium brand synthetics oils will be fine as well. If money was no option, I'd run Royal Purple for 5K, change the filter, then change the oil and filter at 10K. I'd use a Mobil1 301 filter.
