Default OFF TOPIC

My buddy has a 1990 camaro that has a 5.7L/350ci engine that was just rebuilt. It was recently converted to a edlebrock carb. It has been starting to run like crap lately and been dieing after about ten minutes. My friend has replaced the fuel pump, fuel regulator, and all new plugs(4 electrode kind) and wires. It now will start and run but when you rev it up, the engine will die and sometimes just idling itll die. Do any of you engine/carb guys know what the problem could be?

How big is the carb? CFM? Also, any other mods to the engine (Heads, headers, intake, ect). If you pull the plugs are they wet, dry, black or white?

If the plugs are wet, I am going to guess (this is blind) that you have to much fuel pressure. Put on a regulator and reduce the pressure.

what fuel pump is he running? i know this is basic but if he left the electric pump on with the stock regulator then hes got way too much pressure. FI motors need around 50 psi (not a FI guy so i'm not sure) while carb motors need about 7.

close topcop for not being an(fi) guy,if it was an tpi motor run at 45psi,like topcop said carb runs at 7psi,it should be puff out black smoke before it dies, when you try to start it back up do you half to hold it wide open.

Did you have a chance to pull a plug or two? A wet plug would really verify what were are saying.

Even if you reduce the pressure (if that is the issue) you will need to replace or clean the plugs if they are wet/black or run many miles before it will run better.
