I don't understand Ford loyalty. My cousin had a Ford F-150 in the late 90's. Had it for 1 year, of that year, it had been at the dealership more than he had it for his own use. Was in the shop so much, he bought a used car to get back & forth to work (a freakin' Taurus, no less). He had to get dropped off & picked up many times when both were down.
So anyway after a year of this mess (and cussin' out the Ford everytime I talked to him) he trades it in. Losses about 40% of his intitial investment (after only 1 year and 6,000 miles- it's all the use he could get out of it) and trades it in --- ON A FORD!!!!!
has your buddy had any problems with the current Ford?

I have a Dana axle in my 3rd Gen, and they are one of, if not, the best out there.

Oh, in my 3rd Gen SRT that is

well yeah...Dana 60 lucky bast**d....lol

yeah i've never had any problems with dana's...just with the CC axle (Chrysler Corporate or Corporate Chrysler..which ever you like better lol) the clip problems....kind of a hit and miss issue, i've worked on plenty of trucks that havent had any issues and i've also worked on plenty that have....if it was me...i'd deffinitly buy a 2500, cause we had far more problems with the 1500 compared to the 2500...just my opinion i guess

How do you know you have a Dana Rear end? Where was it posted? Where can i find if i have a Dana rear end?

Damn, that last sentence sounds weird....Let me rephrase that. Where can i find if my truck is equipped with a Dana rear end?

Go take a good look at it then macth it up to a web site like Ranndysring and pinnon http://www.ringpinion.com/Default.aspx

Or take the vin number off go down to the dealer ask them for a build sheet it will tell you every thing you'r truck came with.

You can get the numbers off the rear end tag give that to the dealer also they should be able to tell what rear end you have.

Most 1500 have the 9.25Dodge rear ends in them the older ons had the Dana 44 fronts in there 4X4's.

Full floating dana diff are the way to go if you want to change you's out they came on 3/4 and 1 tons most of the time.

I almost sure you have a 9.25 dodge rear end even my old 1982 Dodge power wagon had a 9.25 in the rear and a Dana 44 in front try 4 wheel parts http://www.4wheelparts.com/they sell gear set for you truck in a package deal form it mite tell you what diffs you have also.

It didn't live in the shop like the first one, but it still was there a good bit. I can remember the only time I drove it it had a terrible wobble up front and he said that the dealer told him "they all do that", and I thaught the fit & finish was terrible.
