Ok my 02 Ram just started doing this the other day and I am no good at the hole electrical thing.

So I was just wanting to see if anyone had any advice on what to change or check to find the problem.

Truck has the trailer tow package and has trailer brake controler on it. (Was on the truck when I go ti and was told it was dealer installed so it should be right)

What happened and has happened a few times in the last 2 days is, I hit the right turn signal it flashs 2 to 3 times then stops no lights out on the right side either.
All factory balbs also no leds or anything silly.
If I hit the left signal for a second and go back to the right the right one will work again sometimgs for 2-5 blinks other times just keeps going 1 time didnt do anything still (that was this morning)

Im clueless so any dirction someone can give me to start with will be great. Im thinking either a short or flasher unit is going bad??

I would check to make sure the 3 wire trailer connector that dangles under the rear bumper is not full of water or dirt. I didn't even know it was there on my truck since it has the factory tow package with the larger round connector under the flap on the bumper. If that doesn't fix it then replace the front and rear right turn signal bulbssince it ischeap and easy. You could have a bulb filament that is broken but not completely separated yet.

 

Ya I found that conector yesterday and it was a mess all full of green corrosion and just a mess. It was so bad we just cut the thing off and tapped it all up.
But that didnt fix it. Has done it 2-3 more times since taking it off.
Ill try the bulb thing maybe thats it (Seems unlikly though)
Im thinking its a switch or ground issue someplace.

This is still an on going issue
I have replaced the flasher Unit, all the light bulbs and the trailer hitch light conector under the truck (The one most of us dont know is even there)

Truck is still doing the same crap intermitently turn on the right turn signal nothing turn on the left one and it works the right for a second then goes back to the left if you hit the hazard switch the signals will work right agian.

THIS IS JUST DRIVING ME NUTS!!!!!!!!!!

Not one other person has had this flipping issue with there ram????
UH! Im lost messed with it again for 2 hours and I cant find this I dont want to take it to the dealer and pay them $80 an hour to fix the blased thing

 

have this problem similar atleast on my 99 durango. was hoping to see some solution here . both turn signals work 2 - 5 blinks at normal speed no bulbs out changed the flasher and just stop working and the light stays on instead of blinking

 

does it only do it with the truck running???? i'm not sure i can help but i had a similiar issue with mine.......... i noticed with mine that when i came to a stop,signal on and foot on the brake, my signal would flash fast or not at all or skip, also at the same time the overhead console would flash the same way,,,,,,, when it did this i looked at my tac and noticed my RPM's were 450 to 500 but if i touched the gas enough to bring it to 600rpm's or more then it would work normal.
what i did was i took the IAC out of the throttle body and cleaned it off. now i'm not sure i fixed it but it hasn't done it since i cleaned it.
