Gas Mileage

RE: Gas Mileage
I've got about 12000 miles on my 2004 RAM 2500 Hemi/4.10 QC SB. Just over 1/2 of it is towing a 6000 lb trailer.
Towing mileage was 10.7 mpg
Non towing is a bit over 12 mpg but improving.
Best so far was 15.7 round trip - upstate NY to Newark, DE.
My overhead 'puter reads from 0.5 to 1.0 mpg higher than actual.
I'm sure the extra 1000+ lbs AND the 4.10's have a major impact on my mileage, but overall, I'm not disappointed.

RE: Gas Mileage
The sticker gas mileage for the 4.7 and the 5.7 Hemi only have a one digit difference on the mileage estimate and it's 18 for the Hemi Highway and 19 for the 4.7.
The reason I didn't go for the Hemi was the manual requires you to use 89 octane gas vice 87. Even if the Hemi and the 4.7 got exact mileage, your gas costs more for the Hemi.
My brother has an 04 Hemi and we both get around 13. His has a complete dual Flowmaster exhaust system as well. He tends to put his foot more into his Hemi than I do in my 4.7.

RE: Gas Mileage
Well, I bought a 2004 Hemi Quad-Cab last night with 3.92 & 20" wheels. I reset the overhead computer at the dealership, drove home which was about 40 miles, all freeway at 65-70 on 285/75 and the overhead said 19.9 when I got off the freeway. I'm going to Ocala this weekend and will check it both ways to see what happens.
