Hey grump,
I have an '04 Ram Hemi 4x4 Quad Cab, short bed. My mileage has gotten better after I broke it in, I think. I was getting around 13MPG. After break-in of a few thousand, and after switching to mobil1 synthetic, I'm up to around 14MPG. That's mixed driving. It seems that my highway driving to work is ok, sometimes over 15, but as soon as I make a couple of trips into town that aren't on the highway, it drops like a ton of bricks. And now that it's freezing in the morning and I let it warm up 5-10 minutes, it'll probably drop some more...
But there are many benefits to this truck that go beyond gas mileage! I used mine to pull an old boiler out of my basement the other night, and then haul it to the dump. :-D
