Default buy new truck or keep one I have

I have an 03 1500 qc, it has the 4.7l engine, 6in lift, 35 in tires, and just got new 4:56 gears. I owe 5000 on it, and I am thinking of just paying it off and then having no truck payment. However my wife knows that I want a hemi real bad, and thinks that I should trade my truck in. My question is I have never driven a hemi. If I got the hemi I would not have the money to do much to it, other than I would put 33in tires on it, I would still get a 4x4 q.c.. How comparable is my truck to a stock hemi with 33's when it comes to daily driving, and free way trips?

If anything, I would pay the truck off and stack up all that paper until the 09 models come out. Sounds like you have a pretty kick *** truck as it is, and I dont think the hemi alonewill be worth starting over on your debt. But what the hell, take one on a test drive and if you like it better, go for it! Just my .02 What kind of gas mileage do you get on that? I'm getting about 15 city and 19 highway.

I say, either way you'll be happy. It comes down to how much money you want to keep in your pocket.

yeah...if it was me I'd deffinitly wait till the 09's came out or even till the 2010's came out so then the bugs are pretty well worked out.....I just got to drive a new 09 from CTC down to the truck plant to drop it off and it was sweet....deffinitly wait for the 09's and later to come out

Or you can go with the CTD and then in a few years you will nto do what I did and trade it in again. I traded a 06 (see gallery, it is the one with no rims, and tailgate missing) for my 05 CTD. Now I am hooked.

the 09's are getting a diesel in the 1500, the Hemi is getting VVT so it will have more HP and torque...alot of stuff...if you go to allpar.com and do a search for it then you can read about what they are doing...or at least what most people think they are doing i guess lol

I am getting 13.5mpg around town and 14-15 on freeway (dont know what it will be with the new gears, the whole reason I got them is the truck is a gutless p.o.s. on the freeway). I am going to test drive an 05 1500 qc with a hemi and 6 in lift 35 in tires in the morning, it has 42,000 miles and they are asking 24000 for it. I figure the payments would remain the same as I have right now after the trade in. The idea to wait is real smart also.

an '05 1500 for $24,000...it better have a bed made of gold or the auto-roadhead option, otherwise that's way overpriced...lift or not.i don't know when the last time was that you didn't have a payment...but it feels pretty damn good....atleast i think it does, it's been a few years for me. i'd pay yours off and see what else comes out...if it's nothing great, you've got a stack of cash to buy used...if you do like what you see, you got a trade-in plus down payment. just an opinion though...if i were such a wiz with money i could pay cash for everything i ever wanted.

Actually that price for the 05 is normal. If you like it, go for it. Is it stickered at 24,000? If so they will drop it a good amount, just push the buttons.
