Default Reving Problems

I have an '03 Ram Laramie 4X4 with 120 000km on it. I just had the tranny rebuilt, which is great, except now when I put the truck in cruise control it'll rev up about 200-400 RPM even when I'm on flat ground. Sometimes it does it once inan hour long drive and sometimes it'll do it 5 times in a minute. You can actually feel the truck surge, and now it's doing it even when it's not in cruise. I took it back to the dealership 3 times and they couldn't find anything wrong with it and I had a service manager tell me that it was normal, which it's definitely not. Have any of you guys/gals had anything similar happen and if so, how'd you fix it? I was going to chip the truck but now I'm not sure if I should if there's something wrong with it. Thanks.

Just normal driving. I'll be at a set speed, say 110km/h and I'll be doing around 2000 rpm and the tach will jump between 200-400 rpm and go back down. I was thinking the same thing about chipping it, maybe it's something in the computer. Maybe I'll just take a chance and do it.

you could always try cleaning up the throttle body and sensors... they've been known to cause idling problems... either way it wont hurt to do...

try reseting the pcm. the trans is very addaptive to your driving. hard shifts and other odd actions are worked out as the trans learns.
