I bought a new 06 2500 6-speed Hemi in March of 07 for a good deal. I got a note from the dealership offering the lifetime warranty for $849 with $100 deductable or $949 no deductable. You guys think its worth it? I think I'll keep the truck for a long time like 10 years plus. I have a Chrysler 300 for a family car that I will prolly trade in a few years for a new one so no need for the warranty on that. what exactly does the warranty cover? are injectors and things covered or just the base engine and tranny? I just wanted to get some opinions before I go in on Monday.

I got one when I bought my '06. To me an extra $1400 on my loan (for a zero deductible) is very much worth the peace of mind in case there are ever any problems. Of course, like all things you buy for "just in case", I'll probably never need to use it, or it will be out of warranty before anthing goes wrong lol.

 

anyone else paying for these warranties? Do they cover Fuel injectors and thing like that also? I think I'm going to go to the dealership this afternoon and pony up for it.

Yes I paid for it as well on my 07 QC Hemi. I think it is well worth the peace of mind. My brother in law is dodge master tech and he went with me when I bought the Ram and he said it was well worth it, but make sure it is the chrysler plan and not one that is only honored at your dealership. The better one are honored throughout the US and not just locally so pay attention and ask questions.

 

It's worth it if it is the Chrysler plan. Beware of third party ones, they love to refuse claims.

Also, you need impeccable service records, so if you like to change your own oil and stuff, forget it.

 

The lifetime warranty only requires an inspection by the dealer every 5 years. The inspection is done at no charge.

 

What if I lift my truck? Or add ram air? Does the warranty still cover just like the original? I read the post about aftermarket stuff, just wondering if those mods will affect the lifetime warranty.

 

I got the lifetime warranty added for 450.00 zero deductible. Purchased thelifetime warranty 70days after vehicle purchase date. Called dodge direct. I dont know how good the warranty is but hey for 450 why not good luck
