Default 9007 Bulbs

I'm thinking about getting some PIAA bulbs, but they don't have the H13/9008. They do have the 9007 bulb which looks like the 9008. Will the 9007 work? Thanks.

Nope.

Go to your local autoparts and check it out for yourself, the 9007 are a half moon shape connection while the H13/9008 are a perfect elliptical shape connector.

Also I don't want to waste my time with the Sylvania XtraVision bulbs cause they are only 20% brighter than stock. Yet PIAA, Hella, and other reputable brands don't have a H13 bulb (and this is even when they promised them in late 06).

All the crap on Ebay is just that, Crap.

The only two bulbs that I have seen that I MAY take a chance on is the following.

http://www.nokyausa.com/cw/cw8017.html

http://www.cardomain.com/item/VARVBH13

While the saga of the non-support of the H13 bulb is well known (other forums and the Internet) the reason is somewhat a mystery. I found one website which claimed that the H13 bulbs were "the dumbest design ever" stating that The terminals are so small that they overheat, even at stock wattages, and melt the plastic housing of the connectors.

I suppose a little more research on the Nokya and Varad bulbs is warranted to ensure that they are street legal and that they are known to not cause melting of the headlight housing or worse the truck's wiring harness

I've had very good luck using high wattage Hella 9006 & 9007 off road bulbs; they haveperformed well both in brightness and longevity for me. I did upgrade the plug-in harness for the additional wattage however I was told that may? not be necessary. This application is used in a 05' Ram; not sure about 06' to 08' applications.

Where do the Silverstars rate in this topic? Do those Varad's require additional mods? Not looking for a set of laser's and definitely do not want to melt/damage anything.

Silverstars have a history of a short lifespan, about a year. Even Sylvania admits it. Some have gotten more then a year but some have gotten a lot less. I'm saving up for a decent quality bulb(Hella, PIAA, IPF)when mine burn out.
