The title pretty much says it all. What was the first year for the Hemi in the 3rd gen 1500?
I've found some conflicting information doing a Google and I haven't quite figured out the search function here yet.

2003 model year I believe was the first year for the hemi in the 1500

 

Yep, 2003 was for the 1500. 2002 I believe for the 2500.

 

i think the 2002 2500/3500 are the 2nd gen body style and in 2003 they got the hemi and common rail cummins

I just bought an '02 1500 and, along with a bunch of other stuff, itappears that the previous owner has stuck Hemi badges on a Magnum 5.9-engined truck. So those badges will be coming off the truck.

 

LOL ... yes the 2002 1500 series did not offer the hemi ... in 8cyl engines you could get the 4.7 or the 5.9. I have the 4.7 and am very happy with it.

 

It was introduced mid-year 2003. The early 2003s still had the 360.

 

2002 was the first year the Hemi was introduced. It was only in the 2500 and 3500. After that the 1500 got it in 2003 along with the Magnum.

 

in 2002 the 2500/3500 still had the second generation body style. i beleive the first year of the hemi came out in 2003.

 

It was mid year '03 too. I bought my '03 in October of '02 and they weren't offering the Hemi in the 1500 yet. I had to move up to a 2500 to get it, (it was stock in the 2500 too). I believe it was around March of '03when they began offering the Hemi as an option in the 1500.
