E-Brake Slack?

E-Brake Slack?
Hello all,
While driving my '03 hemi ram quadcab offroad the other day I noticed that the E- brake light was on. Just to be sure at the next stop sign I pulled the release and it was supposedly already up all the way . I finally looked at it and when I pull the release handle and manually pull the pedal up, the back of the assembly touches the copper contact and the light shut off. Still with a light touch, the pedal glides down about 3/4 of an inch and it loses contact turning the light on. I looked and the cable has a little slack when the pedal is pulled all the way up, but the E-brakes work fine. Is there anything I can do to get the pedal to go all the way up again by just pulling the release? Thanks
