A/C Problem
Having a problem with the A/C on my '02 RAM1500 Quad Cab with 4.7L V-8.
A\C works good when moving down the road, but when stopped or moving slow blows hot air. Thought it was the low pressure transducer, got another and had it replaced. Couldn't do it my self no way to recover the coolant from the system. He says that the condensor fan is not running. So I get another and replace it, and it still doesn't run.
Need some help?? Anyone have this problem? I have not checked to see if I am getting voltage to the fan yet, will do that tonight. Where does it get the signal from? Found a relay that is marked "A/C Condensor Fan" where the relays and fuses are, swapped it with one not being used(fog lamps relay). Still not working> I checked to see if there was a fuse, but don't see one.
Any Help would be appreciated.

you have to measure that fuse to be sure.
if the condenser fan dosent wort it´s not the low pressure - the low pressure is in side the car
the high pressuretransduser (if there is one) is properly bad ore the voltage is missing.
1# tjek the high pressure transduser
2# tjek voltage
3# tjek the rely that says A/C

I am sorry, but which fuse are you talking about?
Also the transducer is in the high pressure side, but it is called by the dealership a low pressure transducer & it has been replaced.
I already swapped the relay for the A/C condensor fan.
I will check for voltage going to the fan.
Thanks,
Marty

strange they call it that !?
but i was talking about any fuse - always take out the fuse and tjek it with a mulitimeter (resistance)
when you replaced the transduser did you get the right amount of freon on the system again??
( if thereisen´t enough on it might not build op enough pressure to activate the pressure transduser)
but i think its a bad wire- ore fuse
you havereplaced all otherparts!.

the transduser you did replace was it the one on the thin pipe on the compressor ore the one on the container/tank ???
the one on the compressor (thin pipe ) is the high pressure transduser the other one on the tank is the low pressure transduser!
i got the manual here i can mail you the page !
the low transduser schuts off the power to the compressor when no freon on system i belive
the high presure transduser just starts the fan !!

Ricker,
Check your condensor fan first to see if it is running. The condensor is to the right of the radiator when standing in front of the truck, but you probably know that already. LOL! I will let everyone know what I find out about the voltage to the fan later tonight.

On my 03 ram, there is a fuse which supplied my ac condenser fan and I believe it was in fuse position #12.
I've also recently had problems with my AC system.
I finally rectified it by rebuilding my AC condenser fan which had completely shot brushes.
The AC now eorks great.
As stated above, you must track down the fuse for the fan and make sure it's not open circuit.
Best of luck
Al.

Fixed it. It was a blown fuse for the ac condensor fan. I didn't see it before. Makes me wonder it the fan was bad after all?? Oh well, works now.
