factory jack
my next door neighbor has truck identical to mine and said the factory supplied jack will not lift the truck off the ground if you have the 20" tires. he said you either need a bigger jack or put a block under it. can anyone verify this (not that i'm calling him a liar but he also told me he got 19mpg in town on e-85)?
also, had a rattle in the rear since the day i bought it (brand new). last thursday they were installing my new cap and bedrug when they noticed my spare was loose and ready to fall off[sm=huh.gif].

on my 06 4x4 hemi I had to deflate my spare tire quite a bit to get it on the front tire when I had a flat. lucky I carry a little compressor.

I take it you must have the twenty inch tires. I would absolutely pull the jack out and check this out soon no matter what people say here! You want to know for sure if it works. It is easy enough to carry a small length of 4x4 behind a seat. Red
Yes it will, I've had to do it. Now it won't lift it way into the air, but I got a nail in a back tire a while back and had to jack it up and pull down the FULL SIZE 20" spare....that was heavy, that sucked.
The jack works just fine, had to use it plenty of times before, I have the 20" wheels and other than them being heavier than hell and it being a huge pain to crank on that jack handle, it worked.

I've also used mine many, many times, just put it under the lower control arm and it works fine.
It may not be able to reach as high as the frame rails though, maybe thats what he was talking about??

So that would mean that the truck with 20 are higher then the 17s? does'nt make sense... more tire with 17s..... but less with 20? i thgouth that was the way... I don't think Dodge/Chrysler/cerboohoo...who ever they are... would make extensive changes underneath to render a jack useles...
Ive used that jack plenty of times with my factory 20s, It works fine raises it up with no problem and will get the tire off the ground with about 2" of clearance. Also if your spare was about to fall off you would know it. It is only held on by a piece of metal that is ran through the center of the rimthat is attachedto acable that is tightened so if the spare was about to fall off then it must have been dragging on the ground because that is litterally the only way to get it off that setup. I would suggest this to everyone, go out one morning and use that jack and practice taking off the tire and putting on the spare at least once so you know how everything works.
Also I believe that the factory 20's rim/tire combination is a little taller than the factory 17's rim/tire combo.
