First post, Looking at 05 Ram, need opinions on my deal
Hey Guys
My first post here. I found a very clean NON SPORT 05 Hemi Ram XLT 4X4 QC with 23,000 miles, 20in chromes for $19,995. Is this a good deal????? Seems to be the best deal I could find. I really like the 06 style better but cant go much higher than 20K. New 07's are on the lot for 26k for the same truck. I can't believe the incentives on new Ram's but I dont have an extra 6k. What do you guys think about the deal on the 05? Thanks.

Personally, I like the pre '06 trucks the best. I think the only thing Dodge did uglier than the change to the headlights in '06 was the God-awfull tail-lights for '07.
It's a shame you couldn't swing the extra for the brand new one though, at only 6k more. If that truck is a 4x4 for $20k it right about on average with what I'm seeing down here in Fl. '05 XLT 4x4's are running $18k-$20k based on mileage and condition. If it's a 4x2 it's a little high, I'm seeing more like $14k-$16k all over the place. I just grabbed Sunday's paper with the auto adds, and there are 3 '05 4x4's at stealerships ranging from $17,495 to $18,975. Too many 4x2's to count (prolly about a dozen) and the '05's range from $12,995 (68k miles on that one, though) to $15,995. Just to give you an idea.

If it's the truck you want, you should gofor it. Like I said earlier, it would be nice to have a new one for just $6k more, but if there is absolutely no way you can swing it, the '05 in very good shape for that money is a good deal. It ain't the steal of the century, but they are not ripping you off, either...
