Default Got the duck and a minor screw up.

So I got my Convoy duck in the mail the other day, as you can see by my avatar. Will add some more pics below. I also got the iPod hook up, or so I thought. I opened the package and was looking at it and was like, uh.... hnmmmm. Had a ton of wires, some circular things, a modulator piece and a CD-Rom with instructions. Seemed odd for something to plug my iPod into and tune the stereo to a certain staion. Started looking more and realisied the front of the instruction book said "Park-Sensor Installation". Called the company (see Factory Dodge Accessories to the right) and let them know. The guy said they would give me a call back. About that time it dawned on me to look up the price, damn I hate being an honest guy sometimes! The back up sensor listed for $259.00 and I paid 109 for the ipod part. Anyways, they called me back, apologized and said the right one was on the way with a sticker to send the wrong part back. Thought you all might get a kick out of that. Also got a sticky on the door saying I missed a shipment via UPS from Fabtech, damnit, think it is the Dual Steering Stabilizer as it says one box and the lift kit is in like 3. Anyways, here are the Duck pics.

duck looks good. I agree it will look good on the truck. Lastly, I believe that the honesty was the best thing to do there.

Chief,

You se the title "Chief|" and expect honesty. Not to patronize - but good on ya.

Where were you able to find 'the duck'? Is it solid brass and dipped?

Please be sure to post photos when it is on!

Retired?

No, it is a hollow cast made from the original mold. You can get them 24Kt gold plated, chromed, ar bronze I think. All pretty close in price. Expensive though. I figure when I put it on I will put a piece of flat iron underneath to prevent someone frone wrenching it off. And yes, honesty is best, I truly wouldn't have done it the other way, but don't think it didn't cross my mind.

[sm=americanasmiley.gif]No doubt on the tempttion.

Sorry to repeat the question, especially with such a quick response but here goes, 'where were you able to find a QUALITY duck?'

I specialized in water rescue, swift water rescue and spend as much time as I can around the water. I have been tempted to put on a rubber duck between the kayak mounts but I want quality.

I just checked your profile and see you probably haven't retired - 'ya still in?

Matt

Yes I am still in. Stationed in Newport RI as an instructor. Just google Convoy Duck. The company that makes them is the same company that did the originaal for the movie. They also do the Grammy's so quality is there.

Thanks,

I have googled 'convoy duck' before. Never thought about the Grammy's.

By the way for anyone reading this. There is a connection with Kris Kristofferson and military instructors
Google or Wikipedia Kris and you might be amazed about his service, though brief, and how accomplished it was.

Be well.

Looks great. Can't wait to see it on the truck.
I still haven't seen the movie. I tried to rent it the other night but they did not have it. I don't know where I'm going to find it. I like the song.
