In glancing through the SC Forum, they tell people who use the "dealer reflashed my PCM" line to send them the ITEMIZED invoice from the dealer showing that the PCM was flashed. Then they'll reset for free.

If you use the "I totaled my truck and couldn't remove thetune and just got a new one" line, then they want the police report from the accident and the insurance report. Then they'll reset for free.

Sounds like SC has all there bases covered. So you will have to pay the 200 or buy a new one.

Can't blame em. If people could just reuse them on any vehicle, they wouldn't sell enough to stay in business. It's just like software.

You are right maxpower. I bought a used one for my other truck and I was lucky that the guy did reset his truck before trading it in. Now I am waiting for my new one to come in the mail.

The information I'm sure is stored on an EPROM, you would need an EPROM burner, a copy of the code as stored on an unlocked or new tuner and I'm sure the EPROM is not socketed, so lets figure in a solder stations w/ desolderer. So basically................NO!

I bought one off of ebay that was locked and I called superchips and they told me it was only $100.00 plus shipping to to send it in to get it reprogrammed. So that is what I did.
