Brand spakin' new baby!
Yesterday I started a thread about the fact that the lifters on cylinders 1 and 2 had collapsed in my '03 4.7. I had to bring it back this morning because it was a lot worse off that when they "fixed" it. And the verdict is in. I AM GETTING A NEW ENGINE!!. Apparently they opened it up again and there were parts (they didn't specify) loose and broken inside and the verdict was to replace the whole engine.
I wonder if I'll get a new '08 engine?

Don't burst my bubble![sm=smiley17.gif]
The service tech said once they find a replacement engine they're going to need 2 to 3 days to do the swap. I'd have to guess that'd mean electronics and everything wouldn't it? I've done a carb engine swap with my Dad in a day, and that's running and everything.

Will probally be a long block or a short block and new heads. If its a warranty job, it will not include any electronics, unless the motor threw pieces out and damaged an electrical item...
Looks like it's just going to be a new block and internals. They said they're going to take the heads from my old motor and use them. Probably use the old manifold and valve covers as well. It's basically going to end up a mostly new '03 motor.
