Hey guys I was wondering if your trucks have that thick cardboard looking mat that goes attached to the bottom of hoods. My car does not have anything there and I've heard that the engine heat can kill the paint on top. Anyway a buddy of mine has a 3500 and his does have the mat but I drive an04'1500 Hemi QC. If you gusy can take a look and share i would appreciate it.

I would say that if you bought it used, then who ever owned it before removed it. The only trucks to my knowledge that don't come with that mat are the SRT-10 and the Daytona, or at least the ones I have seen don't have the mat.

 

I don't think it's mandatory..... Just makes it more comfortable to sit on your hood after driving....

 

My stock 2003 4.7L never came with the mat. There is a lot of clearance between the engine and the hood.

 

No mat on my 05 Hemi, did not come with it (I bought the truck new).

 

hmm... ill have to try and remember to look at mine tomora... i know every other vehicle i have owned had them....

 

My dakota, does but moms 04 hemi dont, but that might be due to the funchional scoops

 

my 06 hemi and my 98 5.2 liter have them.

 

My 2000 Dak had one as did my 87 Dak. I took them out because they were torn and catching dust then letting it loose so I took mine off. Makes them sound louder
