Default OVERHEAD CONSOLE - REMOVAL

How do I remove the cover of the overhead console? I have the short console without the eyeglass holder.
I want to tap into the power to supply my rearview camera screen.

Yep, I've taken mine down several times. Be careful to pop the outer hinge pins first. I had problems finding a power source there, though. Wound up having to run down the A-pillar. There's a very convenient power source that's only on with the motor running. It's behind the bolster panel under the steering wheel.

Can you give a little more info on this? I would like to tap into that hot if it is only on while the engine is running.

Got the console off and tapped into the display power for my backup camera screen, works good. Good info about the power source behind the bolster, thanks.

Took these pics this morning. The lit grn wire with a black stripe is hot only when the ignition switch is on "run". It is not hot when switched to "acc".
