Volant CAI Question
I just put in a Volant CAI in my new 07 RC/SB 4.7L and my frist problem is thatthe engine exhaust hose in on the wrong side if the intake ( yes it is the right intake for my truck or so says Volant). My nextissue is that there is a hissing sound when I start the truckand when I let off the gas. It is an anoying sound( Like a hose came loose). Not the normal cool sound of it sucking air that I thought it would have.
WhenI hit the gas it does have a sweet growl but when I let off the gas it hisses very loud.
I have had a CAI on all my cars and trucks and never had this problem !
Has anyone had these problems?
Also I have called Volant and e-mailed them pics but no response

RE: Volant CIA Question
Sorry it says the pics I have are too large (I'm @ work can't take more now)
The main thing is that the hose comes from the left side of the engine to the right side of the stock air box.
But with the new intake it needs to be on the right side of the engine so I'm crossing the top of the engine to get to the right side of the new intake. I did mean CAI, sorry
With the hissing, even if i break the cai down to just the main tube ( Filter on or off) it makes the noise?

RE: Volant CIA Question
If it is not too late,
why not return the Volant
and get your money back'
to spend later on a mod that truly works
rather than one that mainly makes more noise?
Volunteers like yourself
who have pooled money and tested the Volant
found so little improvement that it could not be measured:

Head porting works so much better than aftermarket intakes
that it is well worth saving the money until you have enough to port.
If you desire a quick and simple way to improve power
adding the chemical 1,4 dioxane to your gasoline is a much more effective way, and you can buy a lot of $7 cans of the stuff for the cost of Volant.
But adding dioxane, you are cheating the way Roger Penske's NASCAR teams have shown works:
