rough idle
i have a 04 QC 1500 hemi.I've had quite a few recent problems with it including broken valve springs. Now when i'm in gear and let off the brake and let it idle, it starts to almost hop. The whole truck shakes. As soon as i hit the gas everything is fine but when i'm in slow moving traffic this is really annoying. I've got 5000k left on my warrenty so i'm looking for ideas as Country Crysler in high river alta told me that they didn't know how to fix it and i should try a different dealer(unbelieveable).Any help would be greatly appreciated. The valve springs got fixed on the #1&3 cylinder, i have new plugs and wires, i've had all the coil packs checked and the injection system and air intake have been recently cleaned. thanks
I seem to have the same problem too. if i am just barely coastin like 1 mph it shakes. also when its idleing whether its in drive or park it jumps around from 700 rpms down to 400. sometimes minutes between sometimes not at all. i got 60,000 miles on the truck. The idle change is what weirds me out.
i have a similar problem on my 06. its like theres something wrong with my tach though because its not rough...my tach just jumps between400 and 600 when i'm stopped. about the rough idle you have to take it in that is not normal at all and your running out of time [&:]
I've heard of a bad O2 sensor causing this kind of problem. How many miles do you have and have you done anything special to it like Seafoam or other gas additive?

EGR possibly? I had a faulty EGR on a 4.3 vortec that was stuck open, and it ran really rough at lower rpms. Didn't seem to really notice it at higher rpms.

i got 60,000 miles but have never put in any additives. nor have i cleaned the injectors because i dont know the best way. ive changed the oil every 3,000 and just flushed the radiator and rear diff. i think ill try to replace the o2 sensor, egr, and pcv valve and see what happens. ive never had any engine codes though.
