Default rattling

How do i stop the rattling in the rear end of the truck. It almost sounds like something is rolling around back there. I've checked the spare. Can anyone help. It's getting really annoying. Oh and this morning I put the truck in reverse, but it didnt go into gear. I reved it a little becuase i though i was stuck on a rock or something. but then the tranny finally slammed into reverse. Was it becuase everything was warming up. It never done it since.

When I had a rattle coming from the back of my pickup it turned out that one of my exhaust clamps was loose enough that when revved even slightly it would rattle and shake like there were rocks in the tires lol. On the reverse thing, my truck has done that once or twice but only when it had sat for a few days in colder weather with out being driven. I read some where on here about letting in warm up with the tranny in neutral (something about getting the fluid to start circulating), and since I started doing that it hasn't happend. Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes...

I have the same rattling sound coming from the rear of my truck....

How do you tighten the spare? How do you tighten the exhaust hangers?

Thanks,
Shane

to find a rattle coming from your truck the easiest thing you can do is climp underneath it and have someone give your truck a shakin.... whatever is loose will than rattle and you can pinpoint the problem... that is redneck enginiuity right there!!

Mine has a rattle back there too. I've checked the spare and climbed under it and shook everything I could....but I can't figure out what it is. I only hear it on bumps or rough pavement.
