Anyone have a 2003 1500 Hemi, an un-modded engine, a digital camera and a good heart? Could you snap a shot of the hose that runs from the air cleaner cover (not the large accordian intake hose, but the other one and where it ends up and post it for me, I stumped the parts guy today at my local Dodge. He said, something should go there, but I just don't know what.. . . . . . []

Thank you so much for that pic, I knew I wasn't crazy. The sad part is, I ordered a new cover from Dodge and they had my VIN!! Are you interested in selling the parts in the pic? I'm just happy to know that the previous owner didn't cap something off, I've been driving around scared, wondering what they did. I've had the truck about a month now. If you aren't interested in selling it, do you know the part number?

woah, mine doesn't have that nipple. if that thing is open, then whatever goes in there bypasses the air filter. you don't need a new cover. just plug up the hole with something permanent.

idk if your ram is early or late in the year, but it also may be the the inlet for the pcv. my pcv inlet is on the underside left forward corner of the resonator (part mounted directly on the engine).check to see if you have your pcv tube.

i'm all about helping, but i'm not willing to sell my oem parts.i keep all of them so i can put them back in case i sell the truck or if i'm forcedto bring it into the dealer for major warranty work (don't want to give them a chance to blame stupid stuff on me).

anyway, here's the part numbers that i have on mine. these are just for the cover. they are found inside the cover.

PART N 53032405 AA > PP - 20 GF <

 

Hope this helps some. I have a 2004 but I have the tube you are talking about. It's rubber at both ends with a solid piece in between. It connects from the air box cover to the oil fill spout. The part label was a little worn but I was able to pull a few numbers off of it: 53032811AA, 34611, 3283

I think on 2003's, at least on mine, that connects to the "hemi hat" instead of wayyy over at the airbox.

 

You're absolutely right, the oil filler neck connects to the 'hemi hat' and the clean air filter cover should look like DeWalts without the nipple.I just wish the guy at Dodge had figured this out before he ordered the wrong 77$ part. I really appreciate you guys and the pics and the info.
