If Acetone was the next best gas addtive they would be on the shelfs of you'r local parts store by now or the gas company would be adding it to there gas and charging us at least anouther .25 cents per gallon more.

But my father told me a very long time ago 1 Qt of ATF in a full tank of gas cleans out you fuel line and carb that was back in the 70's that help with you car or truck run better He passed away back in the 1995 Iwould thinkit still will help keep you fuel lines cleaner still, I don't know how you'r injectors will like it but it should help you fuel lines out.

i aggree with all the above. plus i looked into that awhile ago, but the most common thing going for it is there are testimonials that say rpm's are lower, and that produces better gas mileage, but if you know your face from your a$$ about cars, you know that the only things that are important to rpm's is tire size and drive ratio, neither of which will change unless you take your foot out of the gas, which will coincidentially improve your gas mileage. ^_^ and welcome.

Excellent point marv02:

I've used Marvel Mystery Oil for more years than I care to remember with very good results; no it's not expensive or fancy - but it works! It also looks very much like ATF***

While I don't advocate this, it is interesting, and there is a ton of anecdotal evidence out there from users that claim it works to improve gas mileage.

This is by no means a new discussion subject elsewhere on the internet--a number of people claim to have been doing this for years with noticeable improvements. While scientific data is what it takes to convince me, not a$$ dyno data, the fact that so many have claimed it does anything at all is at a minimum interesting and possibly deserving of further investigation.

My main worry would be as to the effects on o2 sensors and cat convertors.

I dont think there is enough acetone to cause any damage...we're talking about 3oz per tank or something like that...when you look at the dilution factor there isnt much acetone going thru the system at all
