Default 4.7 oil change

Why does it say 6 quarts and when you put 6 in it is overfill on dipstick? Is Dodge information wrong or the dipstick?

Mine takes 6 and it shows the oil level at the right place on the stick. Did you start it after you changed it and then check the oil level? Is the dip stick tight in the dip stick handle? Just some ides.

6 Qts is right on the money for mine, as long as I change the oil filter too.

Couple guesses

1. You not changing the filter
2. You are changing the filter but checking the oil level before starting the truck

I use 6 quarts of Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic and it is always right on the money. Of course I always change my oil filter as well ... why would you not? It takes what 2 minutes?
