New NAV (REC) not picking up satellites, Help!!!
Have you taken it back to the dealership ?? I think I would be a little upset if I paid all that money to have a nice NAV system installed and it didnt work right . Go backto the dealer and tell them to fix it !!
Thanks. That a least tells me how to get to the panel under the bezel. I hope it just pulls out then exposes the screws under the bezel.
Are those pages from the 2006 dr manual? Is there a pdf of the 2008 manual yet? does anyone know?
Thanks again. Bob

I have had so much back luck with the dealers here in Arizona, I just thought if it wasn't too much trouble, I would take a look and see if the nav antenna is where it should be. If it is, then I can tell them that I think it is a bad unit or antenna, because I cannot pickup any satellites, and my triangulation is off by about 1/2 mile.
Wow good luck. That really sucks You would think when you pay that kinda money for something they would have done all the testing to make sure that it works !!
yeah it's the 2006 manual. I would imagine things would be quite similar if not identical on the interior of the 06-08's. Go to www.hemitruckclub.com and look on the left if you want to download the 06 manual until the 08 becomes available. It actually shows exactly where the antenna should be installed and the full procedure for installing it.
I have that manual too. I looked all through it in the radio section but couldn't find the console. Even in the body section it does not show how to get my panel off where other haves the flip down cup holder. Like I said, I do not want to just start pulling and prying. You are correct. This 2008 Mega Cab is almost exactly like the2006. Guess this means I'm back to the dealer anyway.

Well, I did it. Ididn't even have any screws holding the bezel on. After I followed the disassembly pictures provided by drj04, I got the bezel off by just slight pulling it away from the dash. The radio came easy and there it was!!! The antenna was taped to the side of the AC duct sideways and upsidedown. I pulled it off, and repositioned it as far forward as I could reach, and with the antenna on top and the wire to the rear. I turned the NAV on before I put it all back, and I got 6 sats right off the bat. I now get between 6 and 8 sats, and the idicator is right on the money.
Thanks to everyone for the help, it really paid off. Anything I can do to avoid the dealer is a good thing. Bob
