Default Wrong gear lube?

I went by my window sticker, and that and my build sheet disagree. but i already did my first rear end change.

will i do any damage running the weight/viscosity and friction reducer in my non LSD rear end? i am going to jack it up tis weekend and check to be sure, but jsut curious now as to any problems.

also, if i jack it up and turn one wheel. both turning same=LSD and turning opposite=open correct?

non lsd both will spin opposite directions, lsd- both will spin same direction. adding the modifier in a non lsd wont do any harm

Default RE: Wrong gear lube?

The friction modifier reduces the HP (high pressure) properties of the gear oil. I think that is a partial cause of the LSD failures. Lower HP properties = Higher temps. No big hurry but I"d rec you change theoil when convenient for you andreplace with 100% gear oil.
