Default Overspray removal

The building next to me was being painted and they got overspray all over my truck and about 10 other cars... they paid to have the truck detailed and when I went to pick it up the guy showed me that he couldnt get the overspray off all the plastic parts, mirrors, bumpers, base of windshield etc..., because the parts are pourous. Anyone have any ideas on how to get these parts clean??? Thanks

go back to the company who got it on there and tell them to find another shop that will get it off!! I would be awfully steamed if that happened to my truck thats not your fault i would have them fix it... overspray is not easy to get off by all means and by getting it off yourself you always have the risk of messing up the finish on what its on...

I agree, have them get another place to take care of it!

Have you tried a little mineral spirits on a wash cloth?

I dunno what kind of paint was used, but try a small test spot.

If it's on plastic/rubber use diluted paint tinner or acetone. And get your self som meguiers back to black or equivilent. to get the moisture back in the parts. If it is still on the actual paint you will need to claybar.

or personally. I would get a bid from a body shop, they have all the good chemicals and know how to protect the finish. Take it too who overspray'd it and tell them that is what it will cost them, and they ARE going to do it.

yeah deffinitly make that company pay to have the overspray removed...but if they refuse to or something, then use some lamp oil and soak a rag in it or use a toothbrush and that should take care of it....i used that to get some road paint off my truck and it worked pretty good...for the plastic, use that back to black stuff, that stuff works great
