Diablo for Hemi LX Blowing up cars!!!
Just read a post by a guy who had it happen to him. Iguess Diablo is now coming out with a disclaimer NOT to install it on modified vehicles. Seems people with LT Headers or Cams or Heads are watching their engines go bye-bye.
I thought their hype when they started advertising it is that it was gonna be the answer for us modded guys.

Well I guess our forum won't let me link that forum, if any of you guys want to read the specifics, PM me and I'll PM you the link.

Brief synopsis of what happened to the guys car after installing the Diablo Predator tuner to his engine with an aftermarket cam:
"Broken ring lands on at least #1 and #7. Evidence is one bent spark plug in each cylinder, low compression in #1 (135# vs 200-210 in others), and pieces of ring/piston top found in bottom of intake manifold pan. Boroscope shows definate #1 and #7 damage."
Keep in mind that this was a "canned" tune, imagine if someone got to playing with settings who didn't know exactly what he was doing!

The thing is if you are really into modding then you need to have a WIDE BAND Air Fuel Ratio guage installed... that alone will become your best investment as it will help protect your investment. You cant tune an engine if you dont know what it wants or needs... and if you dont give it what it needs then you get KA-BOOM!
So let the lesson to you all be.... dont run from the tune... but run right for it WITH your WIDE BAND installed and ready to monitor whats going on in the engine... if it tells you your running lean... then keep your foot out of it untill your able to add more fuel to the mix. If you dont then you will have bucket of broken parts.
SPEED SAFE, AIR RAM

One thing to remember, a wideband is good....but I could blow up your engine with an 11.0 a/f ratio if I wanted. There is more to watch out for with tuning than the a/f ratio.....
