A little OT
Hey guys,
The company my wife works for have a Dodge Caravan, I think its an '02 model. The drivers side power window will not roll down. She works for a non-profit organization so they really dont have the money to take it and have it fixed. I figured to help out if I could. Since its a power window, do you think the motor is out on it or could it be something like corrosion on the wires? I havent ever messed with a power window before so its a little new to me. If you think it is the motor, what does that cost and how much trouble would it be to replace it? Thanks for your input.

yea... well if it were me i would start buy taking off the panel and seeing if its something simple like a loose wire... than trace the wires... and see if power is getting to the motor... if its getting power and not turning... wa la its a bad motor!
Ahhh I found some info in the van forum. I didnt look good enough the first time so if anyone cares to know about some possible causes/fixes on the dodge van power windows then go to this link ... https://dodgeforum.com/m_889198/tm.htmIt seems like smacking the door panel with some force while holding the switch down can tell you whats wrong lol

After you hit the door and hopefully not break it, check to see if you hear a hum with the switch pushed. If there is a hum then the motor is bad. This means that there is voltage to the motor, but it is seized, thus it is humming instead of spinning. If you hear no hum, then check the switch first with a DVM and if it is ok, then check the wiring. You will have to remove the panel to do that though. Good Luck with the beating part though,,,
