Used Superchip
as long as he puts the stock tune back onto his truck, and "deprograms it" you can add a tune onto a different truck. but otherwise, it stores the vin of the stock tune that is on the tuner.
+1, yeah he needs to set his truck back to stock....you could take it from him, send it to SC and have them unlock it for ya, but with the problems that tdmopar59 has been having I don't know if it'd be worth the hassle...and i think it costs like $200 to have them unlock it
Ooof.... if you want it make sure he sets it back to stock.... the guys at superchips are in no rush to help you out... it is a hundred bucks but those guys are soo freakin ughh... not gonna get into it... if its a flashpaq you MIGHT be able to reset it over the internet...
Why should Superchips reset the unit at any price? The original owner either keeps his truck "tuned", or he reverts to stock so he can give/sell his tuner to someone else. It's one thing when someone is screwed over on Ebay and buys a locked tuner but it's quite another when it's already known that the tuner is locked.

With that said they did offer to help TDMopar out and they are giving him the run around….
I have had problems with their so called Customer Service too. Love the Tuner - Hate the Service and web update process.
I had an issue, related or not related their staff on their forum seemed a little cold and vague about ways to fix my problem. They blamed my brand new 2007 truck, I mean who would think that their tuner could be to blame when the problem started after their tuner was installed. Anyway, after this was resolved, it ended up being a factory recall in my remote starter that seemed that my superchips tuner was the catalyst. Once the dealer replaced the factory recall part it has been flawless for 4 months now.
