i have a 2002 Ram 1500 4x4 with a so called 6 in. lift from fabteck. i went with the chep shocks and it rides like crap and i only got about 4.5 in out of it. i dont know if it is becouse the shocks are so stiff but i have also broke both of the shock bolts that go in to the lower A arms. i know that BDS makes a 6 in. lift for our trucks but i costs alot more. does any one elts have a Fabteck lift and do you have the same problams i have had. and what did you do to fix it?

Yea, I've ridden in and driven more trucks with the fabtech than any other. I guess because they are the most economical. I think they are very harsh compared to mine. I think the Rancho 4" rides much better, both on & off pavement. I'm not saying this because I have the Rancho. I actually drove everybodies trucks I could to see what I thought drove the best. One of the guys in on a lease for hunting land with me and a few of my buddies in Ga. has a Rancho on his GMC. It was after driving his off-road that I madethe decision to get mine. Only the Skyjacker is a true 6" of lift, but it's harsh too. The Fabtech, Pro Comp & Superlifts are really between 5 and 5.5" and thus, don't clear any more than the 35's I have.

These are suspension lifts, they ARE expensive and the better the quality, the more expensive it will be. What do you expect? You can't go shopping for steak on a hot dog budget. If money is an issue then you can either save your money and wait until you can afford what you want, or make some kind of sacrifice to maybe a level kit with a body lift or something. Oh, yea, if you think the cost of the kit is high, wait till you see what installation is gonna be to put one in, if you can't do it yourself. Usually takes the better part of two days to do a good suspension system, with an alignment and everything.
I'm not trying to be a ***** here, just giving you a good dose of reality...
