Shifting problems
I have an 04 4.7 4x4 the mods are flowmaster 40's, cold air intake, fastman tb, power wire, tps mod. ok so now thats said and done, when i'm driving, she likes to drop into the highest gear real quick and stay there. when i lean into the gas, nothing happens. and actually the rpms will even drop a little bit and it just bogs down, like its stuck in overdrive. at higher speeds like 70 or so its not as bad obviously cuz thats around normal for that gear. to get it to down shift i have to give it quite a bit of gas, but once it does then it goes fine but as soon as iease off the gas but still want decent speed, itdrops backinto the high gearreal quick before it should and stays there til i mash it again. when it first started (a while ago) i thought maybe it was an engine problem, but it runs perfect with no other issues. i'd say it doesthis 99% of the time, every now and then its completely normal but only for a short while. it does the same with tow/haul on, just doesnt wanna shift out. in 2nd its not as dramatic being a low gear and all but still not so quick to down shift with out romping on it. between the shifts are smooth and no crazy noises or anything. just makes it hard for normal everyday driving.
so i guess what i'm getting at is what makes the tranny shift? is it vaccuum, linkage, electronic, all of those together? how would i go about adjusting or checking what does make it shift.
thanks for the help guys.
