My spedometer is lying to me.
OK, as I re-read what I said, it did not make sense. Dis-reagard the whole no difference thing I said above (thanks playername for setting me straight, spud were in the same boat).

What I'm confused about is why the door jamb sticker from the factory doesn't reflect that.
My last 8 are 3S225842. If you could pull and shoot a service history to me in e-mail or PM I'd appreciate it. I forgot to ask this morning when I picked up the reflector for the passenger door this morning.
Larger (265s) are larger in diameter. This also reduces your effective rear axle ratio. My 3.55 rearend is changed to 3.43 with the 265s on it from stock 245s. This is why radical changes in tire size (larger) cause the truck to have no low end guts and worse city mileage. Highway mileage improves slightly due to fewer engine rpm at a given road speed. The speedo and odo will read slightly low as well. This site has some cool calculators to answer some questions: http://www.wallaceracing.com/Calculators.htm
The door jam only lists what is the standard tire configuration for the truck. They do not have different stickers for all the possible tire combinations from the factory. The other size tires are listed in the owners manual. The vehicle should be ECU's should be coded to reflect the installed options. If yours is wrong then the wheels were changed out after the truck came off the production line with the wrong size tires by accident. The other possiblity is the dealer had a customer that wanted the larger tire on another truck on the lot and they swapped them. This happens quite a bit, usually for the 20's though.

The American Generals on there are fairly new so I'm guessing that when it came time to replace the factory tires someone just read the door sticker and put those on there.
Now I have to decide if I want to go back to the original 265 size and sell the 245s on eBay or just have the computer calibrated. I'm tempted to go all the way to 32s since they'll fit but this isn't a serious off roading truck. I have my CJ for that. This truck's job is to tow and haul stuff and be able to get me down some muddy trails to go hunting.

I bought my 2006 truck used ( 8 mo old). The sticker showed 17 inch rims but the truck had brand new 20 inch rims and tires. I asked the dodge dealer about it and they said they swaped the tires off to help it sell better. I had the original 17 inch tires put back on because the tiresare cheaper to replace and there are more choices of tires to replace them with (mud tires).
