Ordered my suspension
Well I finally ordered my suspension... went with a 4/6 lowering kit from streetbeatcustoms. I also picked up some traction bars from Moe's performace... 36 inch chromed traction bars for Ram's with a flip kit... Can't wait to get it on the truck only gotta wait 6 more days till I can get my race cars outta my shop. I'll post pics when i get everything in. If anyone is concidering buying hard to find performance parts I would highly recommend Moe's performance. Bob really knows what hes talking about and is extremely helpful, I have nothing but good things to say about him. Anyways I'll keep you all updated on how the install goes and how its rides and performes.
yeah Bob is an very helpful guy over there at Moe's.....you do know that you will have to c-notch the frame for your 4/6 drop?
rammin....as far as ride quality goes...it's not as good as stock untill you get aftermarket shocks...the McGaughy's kit that i have (2/4) uses the stock shocks and the ride quality is very bad. I went with a set of Belltech Nitrodrop shocks and the ride is greatly improved. to get an even better ride, you could go with a set of air bags in the front and rear. i have an airbag system in the rear for heavy loads and whatnot and you'd be amazed at how much that helps the ride quality.my kit also uses the flip kit, and when you go to install it, make sure you go someplace and get 1.75 shims to put between the axle and the springs so then your pinion angle is closer to stock.
you should also think about relocating the spare tire to the bed instead of under the truck...i've had a few problems with the rear diff getting pretty hot even with using synthetic fluid. i moved my spare to the bed and bought an aftermarket diff cover to hold 2 qts more fluid..it seems to be keeping the diff much cooler now...you'll also have to re-route your exhaust before you lower it because the exhaust would have hit the leaf spring if i had not done so....any other questions then feel free to PM me....i've had my truck lowered for about 1 yr and have had more then my fair share of problems, but I deffinitly wouldnt change it cause the look is great

Well we did the suspension yesterday and it took 5 guys roughly 6 hours to do. We went alittle further than we had to though... welded the C-notch in and welded the new spring perches in instead of bolting them up which took alittle more time. The truck looks great and rides alittle rougher but not much. The only thing that worrys me at this point is i had to cut the lower balljoint nuts down past the tephlon locking part of the nut to make sure it clears my rim... which it still only clears by roughly a mm. So far there has been no rubbing issues anywere but im going to keep an eye on it.. especially those nuts. The other thing thats alittle rough with this kit is the fact that they have you reuse the stock U-bolts which really arent long enough.. so if your planning on doing this kit i suggest getting longer U-bolts and short locking nuts for your lower ball joints before you go to install it. Only thing I'm waiting on now is my Moe's Performance traction bars... I'll post pics when I have them on.
Well i finally got some pics for you guys
