RE: Possible To Add A Leaf For Towing?
I have a 2004 Ram 1500 QC also and have airbags. I love them. I carry alot of weight all the time and the truck always had a sag to it. In addition I tow alot of equipment too, plus I have a camper. The airbags are nice because normal conditions I run 30lbs of air and when towing I can bump it up to as high as 100lbs, not that i've needed to. The beauty is that they are adjustable unlike adding a leaf. I've also noticed that even whenusing them the ride is very cushy. I bought mine from this site http://www.truckspring.com, they have lots of neat stuff.

Do a search for Air Bags on here. I have made multiple posts about mine with pics. I travela good bit with my 650# ATV in the bed and with my toolbox, it sits way back, sagging the rear and pointing my headlights in everyone'seyes. My high beams are up in the branches going down the road.
Very inexpensive, easy one person install in the driveway, and unlike springs, you can let air out when not towing or hauling so that the empty back end is not bouncing all over the place and jarring your kidneys out like springs would.

I ran helper springs from AutoZone on my last truck (92 GMC ext cab 4x4). They cost a whopping $26 and installed in maybe 20 minutes per side. They made a huge difference in reducing sag under load, plus they made the truck handle better by firming up the rear springs. They just clamp into place over the stock springs using U-bolts.
I towed right at my truck's limit, a bit over 6500 lbs (a Grand Marquis on a UHaul trailer) and the rear was down maybe an inch from stock. I once filled the bed with store furnishings, while towing a 15 ft. cargo trailer with more furnishings, all with no noticable sag. Then there was the time I hauled a full pallet of sheetrock ceiling tiles.... You can see I tested them quite a bit. For $26, it was a no-brainer.
I plan to install a set on this truck as soon as I get a chance. Right now all I've pulled is my utility trailer w/ riding mower so my Ram hasn't really been put to work yet.
