Last week I changed my plugs and went with a set of platinums. VIA the overhead beforeI was averaging 12.3 MPG. Today was the first real long trip I took since, about 125 miles. The overhead said I averaged 16.8 MPG. But that was also with the cruise control set @ 65 and the tail gate down. The best mileage I have gotten was 300 miles froma full tank. And that was including traveling the Kangamangas Highway in N.H up one side of the white mountains and down the other side. Lets just say that on the way down, gear selector was in (N)

You wanna be real careful running your automatics in neutral at high speeds for a long period of time. Thats why when your towing a vehicle you dont want to go over 35mph w/o removing the drive shaft.

yeah if you want a really accurate way of getting MPG then always do it by hand...the overhead is pretty good but it can be wrong as well.....

My overhead always reads 17.5 - 18.5, but the best I have got in the five months I have had my truck is 16.4. I always get in the 15's, I drive easy.

do you think thats because of the winter mix fuel...... i have heard most people saying that the lower gears are improving their city mileage..

no because i had all this done before they started switching over to the winter fuel....this was back in late september, don't switch over up here untill like the mid/end of october......i'll have to wait and see what it is after winter with my stock 20's on it......right now it's sitting in the parking lot with the stock 20's back on it and covered up with a truck cover i just got friday lol.....

course, having the Performance 93 octane tune in my truck doesn't help any either...damn lead foot lol
