I have a 04 ram witha hemiand at low rpms like when im towing up a hill before it down shifts it make a ticking noise like a lifter ticking, but the dealer said that it is just the way the hemis sound? so i was wondering if this is true or the dealer trying to get out of warrenty work

 

Both my Hemis tick only at idle and then only every now& then. If they tick at other times, I don't hear it over the exhaust. What flavor gas are you using?

 

Sounds like the infamous "Hemi Tick" do a search, there has been volumes posted on the subject.

 

I went to another dealer and he said that hemis were bad for having a exhaust leak at the driver side header. I use only 93 oct. because I use a superchip. So now I have to buy some headers to see if the fixes it. I always sounded like a exhaust leak, but i didnt think it would leak being all stock up there

 

yea... i have this same tick and to my knowledge 90% of us do....

 

I thank everone for the help so now I know it just aint me

 

I had that same tick on my 4.7 and my 5.7.... never bothered me.....
