2005 or 2006?
Thanks for your advice, everyone.
I took the '06 home overnight to show my wife before I commit to it. It's a really, really clean truck, but I noticed a few things:
- Bumpy-feeling vibration at about 60 mph that smoothed out by the time I'd gotten home from the dealer, about a 25 mile drive on the highway. I wonder if the tires had flat spots from sitting a while on the lot, or if they're just out of balance? Is wheel/tire balancing an issue with the 20" rims? The '05 I test drove at another dealership had a bit of this too. I'll see how it feels when I drive it back to the dealer tomorrow.
- High beam switch didn't "stick" in high beam position when pulling back all the way on the stalk - it would only flash and return to low beam.
- There were some gusty crosswinds tonight, and every time there was a gust (as I was driving at about 70mph on the highway) the driver's door seal whistled annoyingly
Are these common issues with this year of truck? The thing's still got a year of warranty left on it, so I guess I can get anything wrong fixed. But it's nice to know.

high beam thing... are you sure the headlights were on and not just fogs or something like that... i know a guy who made that mistake before
rims... the wheel weights have fallen off in some cases... see if there are any spots where there used to be a wheel weight on the rim....
annoying whistle i think is anybodies car or truck....
keep us posted!

Stick with an '05 with the lowest possible miles. The '06-07 series aren't bad from what I've heard but they aren't anything super. I will agree with you that the interior is nicery in the '06 series trucks, but I still think that the '05 has a few more advantages
If I'm not mistaken the 05's were last last year they had the 7yr/70,000 mile powertrain warranty, 06 went back to 3yr/36,000 mile warranty. But I hear you can purchase the lifetimepowertrainon some of the 06's but then again not too sure.
