The best way to find that vibration
is with a skilled Chrysler tech
using the
Special tool OT-38793 "Electronic Vibration Analyzer Kit (EVA)"

Nope no leveling kit, but the tires are a larger size then what is on the sticker on the door jamb. Sticker and build sheet have 245/70/17 but the truck has 265/70/17.

I have not had too much time to mess with it lately because of the crappy weather and Christmas coming up. Whenever I get it figured out I'll post what it was.

Ok I can't belive how much time has gone by but I finally had the time to figure out and fix the shaking problem.

It turns out it was the front cv joints and the front differential stub shafts that the cv joints attach to. I had bought new cv joints but when I went to put them on I noticed that the splines on the stub shafts were very worn and rusty. The new cv's would not fit tight on them. The stub shafts were a pain to change, but the truck now drives like it is brand new. No shakes, or vibrations even at 80+ MPH.

I am so glad it's fixed it was painful for me to only be able to drive 55 on the highway when everyone else was doing at least 70.

I'm having similar problem...Have a 2002 RAM 1500 4x4 SPORT with oversize mudders on 18" rims...The problem I'm having is when I get up to 55mph, the truck starts vibrating but when I turn off the over-drive, it smoothes out but runs at about 3000rpm's then...I just got the truck about a month ago and it's done it, according to the previous owner, for awhile now...I would love some advice on what to check for this problem

Not true my front driver hub didn't make noise till bout 15 seconds before tire rim brakes n break line came off cuz the hub separated n I was doing 60 in the mountains at night in the snow, ya that was a fun ride

Were you able to find a solution to your problem? I have a 2003 1500 4x4, 115k. With O/D on, at 50-55+ mph, the entire truck shudders, bucks and on one occasion reduced power, the RPM's would not get above 2k, and would not exceed 55mph. I replaced the rear brakes and emergency brakes, U-Joints, rotated and balanced tires. I am still searching for help in diagnosing the problem.
