O.K.... i dont really know how to say this but about 3 weeks ago i blew the 4.7 in my 02 quad cab sport, i mean as fast as my pressure machine could put pressure in the radiator, it was dumping coolant into all 8 cylinders, yeah, i know.Ever since, ive been weighing my options and this is what ive came up with. I BUILT A 400+HP SBC FOR AN S10 PROJECT IVE HAD FOR AWHILE NOW, ive done some measuring and since i dont really want to pay in excess of $2000 for a plane jane 4.7 im gonna put in the sbc with a th400 behind it. I would love any and all comments , good and bad, on this. any tech advice would be awsome also. so unless you gotta spare 4.7 layin around for cheap, you'll be getting some regular pics and updates as it comes along Lemme have it.

A cross-breed like that just doesnt seem right. But at the same time I appreciate some good ole fabrication. Do it.

you know... by doing a motor swap its going to be a ton of work besides putting in a motor and trans.... you got all the electrical crap to deal with... crossbreading the trucks is gonna keep anything from matching up..... but if you can do it... why not!

go buy a GM if you want a sbc....never have liked cross-breeds and never will.....however, it's your truck and do what ya want with it...personally if it was me, i'd sell the engine and buy a Mopar crate 360 or 6.1....or go insane and buy the 528 Hemi

even if you do go ahead with this... you are going to run into a lot of headaches with electrical proplems...

The only thing i come up with... you are gonna have a lot of work ahead of you... even if you can get it phsyically in... What about the computer?.... all the power harnesses... will it fit with the proper clearance on all sides? I think it's too much... invest in a crate engine designed for that body/drivtreain combo... and remember... you said... "lemme have it"....

Well so far its what i suspected, lots of doubt but thats exactly what i want, real feedback. I know yall keep talking about wiring and such, thats all in the makeing, nothing but a little alldata and my will to tackle that, no prob. Oh , and as for u xxl,you may not like the sbc but as far as running me over.....have fun gettin that 'ol dog to catch me! LOVE IT OR HATE IT, THE MAYOR'S GONNA BE SPORT'N A BOWTIE!!!!

Also, for any others out there wonering how its gonna work, fit , or whatever, yall remember project ramrod? Look it up, you'll see, theres a bounty of room and the 3rd gen ram is a perefect platform for this, theres seperate comps for engine, acc's, some even have a diffrent trans comp. Be lookin for updates, and keep the feedback come'n!
