Locking/Freewheeling Hubs
First time, pop there goes the cherry.
Just a thought, a lot of 4x4's I've owned had hand set hubs. Less wear and tear on truck and better fuel consumption. Not seen any on newer Rams but not to happy with the gas return on my 4.7 1500 4x4 so far, only 2000 miles but not breaking 14 MPG on 100 mile plus runs.

Are they freewheeling? Seems as though the drive shafts, diff and prop shaft back to the transfer box are all still being turned. The only disconection from being in the transfer box not at the hubs causing drag and therfore more gas being burnt to turn all these components. So any ideas?
Warn and other companies offer for older models but not latest generation.

Hopefully your gas mileage will increase. I have a 4X4 QC Hemi. I average at least 13.5 around town with a best open road of 18.5 at 65mph. My best for towing my 6,000 lb boat has been 12.5. Hopefully that helps. I did notice an increase in mileage when I converted to synthetic at 3K. Good Luck!
